As far as movie releases go, it doesn’t get any more glamorous than the latest Bond offering. So when you pair that with some of the world’s most sophisticated brands, you know you’re in for something pretty special.
We helped Gillette celebrate their tie-in with the sensational new film Spectre with a chic cocktails and canapés bash at the ultimate 007 venue: The London Film Museum. Home to the Bond in Motion exhibition, it contains the largest collection of vehicles from the iconic movies.
Our mission, which we gladly accepted, was to make sure the evening was as smooth, suave and sophisticated as the secret agent himself.
The keyword on arrival was luxury, with our waiting staff serving 100 guests only the finest: Bollinger Champagne and Belvedere Vodka Martinis (shaken-not-stirred by our flair bartenders).
Mr Bond would also no doubt have approved of the sublime canapés. Potted Brown Shrimp from Morecambe Bay with cucumber pickle; Egg ‘n’ Chips crafted with caviar eggs, triple cooked chips and soured cream; and rare breed Steak Tartare.
Sweet canapés of Lemon Curd Tarts and Éclair au Chocolat went down a storm with guests as they enjoyed live music and mingled among the Bond paraphernalia.
Of course, our favourite spy is famed for being impeccably well groomed, so Gillette made sure male guests could experience their own Bond moment at the set-up Shaving Station.
And while my life may be more espresso that espionage, I admit to drawing a few comparisons between my team on the night and the world of a secret agent.
For a start, it takes stealth to arrive at a venue and have it oozing with style and elegance in less than 90 minutes. Not to mention the microscopic attention to detail when it comes to ensuring drinks, catering and equipment are in place. And finally, the precision planning to ensure the right staff are on hand for an event to run like clockwork.
That’s just about all the excuse I need to order up a little light refreshment for myself. Vodka Martini anyone?
